2025 Baseball Tryout Registration

2025 Olentangy Cubs Baseball


For the 2025 season, the Olentangy Cubs travel baseball program will provide 7U, 8U, 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U, 13U, 14U, 15U, and 16U teams with the possibility of multiple age groups. 

Come join a baseball program that provides an opportunity for players who are looking for enhanced competition and a longer sporting season, including the summer months, winter clinics, and workouts. We encourage multi-sport athletes and promote a healthy balance between family time and sports. Our experienced coaches focus on player development, a sense of community, and having fun playing baseball. 

We require our 7U through 12U players to participate in the Olentangy Little League in the spring as a means to further develop their skills, play with their friends, and achieve the ultimate goal of this program which is to win the Little League Baseball World Series http://www.llbws.org. Players must live within the Olentangy Little League boundaries (https://www.olentangyll.org/Default.aspx?tabid=2643834) OR can have a waiver if there is no sanctioned Little League in your area (https://www.littleleague.org/play-little-league/league-finder).

13U and older are strictly travel baseball teams and continue preparing players for High School baseball and beyond. There are no boundary restrictions, all players are welcome to tryout.

There are no fees or cost to tryout.

Tryouts are conducted on multiple dates, players must attend at least (1) date. 

Arrive up to 30 minutes early to warm-up. All tryout times are at 6pm unless stated otherwise.

7U - June 17 and June 18 @ Cheshire Elementary
8U - June 20 @ Cheshire Elementary
9U - June 25 @ Cheshire Elementary
10U - June 24 @ Cheshire Elementary
11U - June 19 6:30pm @ Glen Oak Elementary
12U - June 25 and July 3 @ Cheshire Elementary
13U - June 27 @ Berlin Middle
14U - July 9 and 10 (Location TBD)
16U - TBD

If a player can not attend a tryout, please contact the head coach for a possible private tryout. All players must complete all tryout activities, including pitching, hitting, infield and outfield. If you are unable to make it to either tryout date, please reach out to us at [email protected]

Coaches will determine the roster size; a minimum of 11 players is required.

Program fees do not include uniforms.

2025 Softball Tryout Registration

2025 Olentangy Cubs Softball


For the 2025 season, the Olentangy Cubs travel softball program is launching with teams at the 8U, 10U, and 12U age levels. 

Come join a softball program that provides an opportunity for players who are looking for enhanced competition and a longer sporting season, including the summer months, winter clinics, and workouts. We encourage multi-sport athletes and promote a healthy balance between family time and sports. Our experienced coaches focus on player development, a sense of community, and having fun playing softball. 

We require our 8U through 12U players to participate in the Olentangy Little League in the spring to ensure balanced skill development, leadership, and strong community engagement. Our commitment is to develop well-rounded players who excel in sportsmanship, teamwork, and inclusivity, preparing them for success in sports and beyond. Additionally, we promote strong ties with high school programs to ensure a seamless transition and continued development in their baseball or softball journey.

Coaches

  • Where appropriate, we will name coaches prior to tryouts.  In certain circumstances, we may have to wait to see where players fall in the tryout process before naming a coach.
  • New Cubs coaches are vetted through a referral and interview process.  Returning coaches are evaluated based upon parental feedback, board review, and developmental progress of their players.
  • Most Cubs coaches are parents of players.

Acceptance Process

  • All parents/players will have 24 hours to verbally accept an offer and 48 hours to make their first payment.  
  • If payment is not made by that time, the roster spot will be given to another player.  There will be no exceptions to this.  If there are deliberations with other teams, you will want to make arrangements to have offers completed by that same time.
